CapturedByGrace > "Colorado Columbine" My first ever shot of a columbine, taken June 27, 2009. I had never seen a columbine in the mountains before this. Was walking along the road, looked to the left, and saw a group of these growing near some rocks! I had to teeter on a fairly steep embankment to get this shot, but it was worth it! God is an awesome painter of color. Best viewed large.

While photographing these delicate flowers, I marveled at how amazing it is that they can grow out of rocky areas like this, withstand heavy rains, yet remain this delicate-looking and beautiful. Colorado has seen great rainfall this year, making for nice cloud cover, aiding saturation of colors. God is such an amazing creator. 06/20/2009
